Branding

About

A chance for education is a chance to live. Every child should be allowed to experience life, equipped with the morals & lessons from education. This formed the foundation and the guiding principles for KUMOLUYI EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION, a non‑governmental organization run by a group of religious leaders.

The Brief

The client requested that I create a brand identity that will help communicate the sole purpose of the organization. They were quite specific in terms of the representation and elements they wanted to be incorporated into forming the brand. They wanted the identity to speak two things ‑ Education & Children.

Research

Beyond the knowledge that comes from our different experiences in life, many of us were exposed to basic knowledge from the pages of a book. Life began to evolve with meaning as we acquired more knowledge after another. Inspiration for Kumoluyi Education Foundation's brand identity came from the pile of books represented through the knowledge in its pages.

Design process

The brand identity ideation originated from the primary solution the brand represents ‑ which is to create a digital platform that connects 3 different entities. I leveraged this and adopted a ‘triangular’ symbol ‑ 3 edge points interacting to form one significant symbol, with a secondary symbol that represents the users.

Result

The design process starts with illustrations and sketches. During this initial stage, we incorporated insights from research and drew inspiration from various sources that are relevant to each project. These elements serve as the foundation for sketching icons, selecting appropriate fonts, and establishing a complementary brand color scheme.
